Connection problems
- 01
Console says Demo mode
Confirm the companion Q is in the Mac menu bar, reopen it, and check that it is paired. A remote device cannot use localhost and needs the production pairing.
- 02
Remote says expired
Create a new pairing in the console and scan the new QR. Remove old Home Screen bookmarks that contain revoked credentials.
- 03
Pairing works but actions queue
The Mac companion must be running and online to drain queued actions. Reopen it and confirm its last-seen indicator updates.
Actions or context are wrong
- 01
A shortcut does nothing
Recheck Accessibility, restart the companion, and confirm the target app still uses the expected shortcut. Customized and localized keymaps may differ.
- 02
The wrong profile appears
Saved profiles have priority. Inspect their app and bundle-ID rules for a broad match. Delete or refine the unintended rule.
- 03
Browser URL is missing
Approve Automation for the browser and restart Cueboard. Some browser or privacy configurations prevent URL inspection; app-level matching still works.
Display and installation problems
- 01
Screen still turns off
Tap Keep awake, disable Low Power Mode, and keep Cueboard visible. If status says Unavailable, adjust the device Auto-Lock setting.
- 02
Home Screen app forgot pairing
Safari and installed web apps use separate storage. Open the Home Screen icon and scan the pairing QR again inside that app.
- 03
macOS cannot verify the developer
Only if the DMG came from usecueboard.com, right-click the installed app and choose Open or use Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
